Note:
- Candidate should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of reckoning eligibility criteria/cut off which is 28.02.2025.
- Candidates whose result of the qualifying examination is awaited on the date of reckoning eligibility criteria/cut off are not eligible to apply.
- The prescribed qualification for Graduate/Diploma holders shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the posts reserved for them) in aggregate.
- Candidates holding a qualification acquired through part-time/correspondence/distance education mode are not
- Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech., MBA, CA, LLB, MCA, or any such equivalent qualification or pursuing higher qualification and having completed the same on or before joining apprenticeship training, shall not be eligible.
IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2025 AGE CRITERIA:
Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 28.02.2025 which is the date for reckoning any eligibility criteria.
DURATION OF APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING: 12 months from the date of engagement.
STIPEND
Rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019 as amended from time to time and Corporation’s guidelines.
CONCESSIONS & RELAXATIONS
- Reservation of seats to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer-NCL)/PwBD/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates shall be as per the applicable Govt. guidelines.
- Relaxation in upper age up to 5 years to SC/ST candidates and 3 years to OBC (NCL) candidates considered against reserved positions will be allowed.
- Relaxation in upper age up to 10 years for PwBD candidates will be allowed irrespective of reservation of posts to them. Further, upper age relaxation of 5 years to PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 3 years to PwBD-OBC(NCL) candidates will be allowed.
- The minimum prescribed qualification marks will be relaxed by 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories considered against reserved positions.
- In case of candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category, name of OBC caste mentioned in the certificate should fall in the Central List of OBCs of the respective State and Non-Creamy Layer status should be valid as on cut-off date of reckoning eligibility criteria.
SELECTION METHODOLOGY
Candidates registered in the NAPS/NATS Portal and applying against the notification shall be considered for selection as detailed below:
- Panel cum Merit List of all the candidates, who have applied against a respective post in the portal and meeting the notified eligibility criteria, shall be prepared based on the percentage of marks in descending order (aggregate of marks of all subjects of all years/semesters will be considered for eligibility) obtained in the essential qualification applicable to the trade applied for. Wherever CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade is awarded in the ITI (Fitter)/Degree/Diploma examinations, its equivalent aggregate percentage of marks must be indicated by the candidates in the On-line Application as per the norms adopted by Board/University/Institute. Candidates will have to upload certificate from the concerned Board/University/Institute regarding the equivalent aggregate percentage of marks with reference to their CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade and produce the same at the time of document verification failing which their candidature will not be considered. In case the Board/Institute/University does not follow any conversion formula for converting CGPA/OGPA to Percentage, candidate will have to produce a certificate to this effect that the Board/Institute/University does not follow any conversion formula and in order to arrive at equivalent percentage of marks, aggregate of Grade score obtained in each semester/year as applicable, divided by the total number of semesters/years will be considered. In case of Letter Grade, candidate will have to necessarily produce Certificate from the Board/ University/Institute specifying clearly equivalent percentage of marks against Letter Grade failing which their candidature will not be considered.
- In case of a similar rank in merit based on the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualifying examination, a candidate with an earlier date of birth (older in age) shall be In case of same date of birth, candidates having a higher percentage of marks in Matriculation shall be considered.
- There shall be No Written Test or Personal
- If seats reserved in any trade for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) cannot be filled from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), then the seats so lying unfilled may be filled by persons belonging to unreserved category on the basis of position in the Panel cum Merit List.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that they are ‘Medically Fit’ as per Indian Oil’s pre-engagement medical standard. Candidates are advised to go through the “Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Pre- engagement Medical Examination” at https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/ under download section, before they commence the application The persons with benchmark disabilities, except for the identified disability, must be within the normal range of all other physical standards.
- Candidate should not have undergone Apprenticeship Training earlier or has been pursuing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act.
- Candidates having undergone training and/or having job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of the qualification shall not be eligible to be engaged as Apprentice.
- Candidates who have completed five years after acquiring the prescribed qualification as on date of reckoning eligibility criteria shall also not be eligible for engagement as Apprentices.

- Candidates must complete the application for Openings/Opportunities in respective NATS/NAPS Portal from 10.02.2025 to 03.03.2025. Before applying against an opportunity, the candidate MUST ensure that their profile (Personal details, Educational details, Category etc.) along with aggregate percentage are appearing correctly in their application. Candidates are required to contact NAPS/NATS Office in case of any corrections.
- After applying against an opportunity in the respective NAPS/NATS Portal, the candidate must complete their registration/application for apprentice positions in Indian Oil Pipelines portal at https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/
- The candidate must use the same e-mail ID and Mobile Number used in respective NAPS/NATS Portal which must be valid for the entire apprenticeship period.
- There are two steps for Registration process (Part-I & Part-II) in Indian Oil Pipelines portal at https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/
- In Part-I registration, candidate must fill their basic details like name, category etc. and must create their own password. After successful Part-I registration, system generated registration number is sent to their registered email id/SMS. With this registration number, candidates have to login into the system again with the password generated by Candidates are advised to remember registration number and password for future reference/use.
- In Part-II registration, candidates must upload their scanned photograph and signature and furnish educational qualification, experience details etc. and submit the same. The candidate should have scanned copy of colour photograph (Size: between 20-50 KB in JPG Format) and signature in black ink (Size: between 10-30 KB in JPG Format) ready before applying on-line. This is the final submission process and after that candidates cannot change the details furnished. VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS
Verification of the original documents shall be done before joining of the candidate as an Apprentice. The list of candidates provisionally selected for Document Verification and Medical Fitness shall be published on the IOCL website. Offer of Engagement shall be issued to only those candidates whose all documents including medical fitness certificate is found in order.
The candidate must bring all original certificates/testimonials/ mark sheets along with a passport size photograph and self-attested copies of certificates/mark sheets for checking at the time of document verification. In case it is detected during document verification that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect / doctored / false information / certificate / documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), their candidature will stand cancelled.
The following original documents along with a self-attested copy should be furnished at the time of Document Verification:
- Xth Standard/Matriculation certificate/mark sheet issued by the concerned Education Board as proof of Date of Birth. No other document will be accepted for verification of Date of Birth.
- Latest Caste certificate by reserved category candidates in the Performa prescribed by the and issued by Competent Authority only.
- For claiming the benefit of OBC-NCL category, the candidate should submit a latest Caste Certificate (not more than 12 months old from the date of reckoning i.e. 02.2025) in the Proforma prescribed by Govt. of India, which would, among others, specifically mention that the candidate does not belong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) as mentioned in column 3 of the schedule to the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India OM NO.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.1993. Candidates belonging to OBC category but falling in creamy layer are not entitled to OBC reservation benefits. Accordingly, such candidates may choose to apply for the positions provided they meet the age criteria applicable to UR candidates and indicate their category as “UR”. Indian Oil Corporation Limited being a Central Public Sector Undertaking, only those communities that are mentioned in the Central List of OBC-NCL approved by Central Government shall be treated as OBC-NCL for the purpose of reservation. - Candidates can apply for one Trade Code ONLY.
