Preamble:

National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India invites applications for faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-II, On Contract, Level-10), Assistant Professor (Grade-II, On Contract, Level-11), Assistant Professor (Grade-I, Level-12), Associate Professor (Level-13A2), and Professor (14A) from Indian nationals fulfilling eligibility criteria and possessing excellent academic background, commitment to quality teaching and research, and propensity for institutional development in various specializations of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Management as given in Annexure-I.

 Essential Qualifications:

  1. Engineering Departments: BE/BTech or equivalent and ME/MTech or equivalent and PhD in relevant/ equivalent discipline with first class in the UG/PG. BE/BTech with direct PhD with first class in UG will also be considered.
  2. Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics: PhD degree in the relevant or equivalent discipline with first class BSc/MSc degrees.
  3. Management: PhD in Management with any Bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) and MBA or equivalent Master’s degree in Management or equivalent PGDM (2 years) as per Association of Indian Universities, or PhD in Management with integrated Master’s degree in Management. First class in the preceding degrees is essential.
  4. Humanities: PhD in Humanities with any bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) and master’s degree in appropriate branch of Humanities or PhD in Humanities with integrated master’s degree in appropriate branch of Humanities. First class in the preceding degrees is essential.

At least 80 Credit points. Good quality publications with at least 20 papers in Q1 Journals and at least 10 papers in Q1 Journals at the Associate Professor level. Preferably below 55 years of age for UR candidates*

 Mode of Selection for all posts: The applicants who have applied and shortlisted for positions Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor (Grade I & II) have to go through the selection process of (a) Teaching Demonstration (Blackboard Teaching on any core course of the branch at the 2nd year BTech level for Engineering branches and at 1st year MSc/MA level for Sciences and Humanities) (b) Research presentation using a PPT and (c) In case the number of applications are many, the institute may decide to have an online presentation by the candidates to shortlist the applications.

 Incentives for faculty at NIT Andhra Pradesh

 In addition to normal pay and allowances as applicable to the faculty, the following additional incentives are also available for faculty members of NIT Andhra Pradesh.

  1. A seed grant amount of 10 Lakhs shall be allocated to a faculty joining the institute.
  2. Research Collaboration travel grant of 25,000/- per year.
  3. Project Matching grand up to 5 Lakhs for faculty who obtain externally funded projects.
  4. In case of externally funded projects, the institute will allocate 20% of overheads to Research Development fund of the faculty and 20% to Research Equipment Maintenance Fund so that the faculty can take care of the equipment purchased from the project after the project period.
  5. Cumulative Professional Development Allowances (CPDA) of 3 lakhs for every block period of 3 years is made available to every faculty member on a reimbursable basis to meet the expenses of participation in National/International Conference, payment of membership fee of Professional Societies and contingent expenses.
  6. All faculty will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS 2004) as per of India rules.
