Notification for Engagement of Apprentices for the year 2024-25 Under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.

APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM WARDS OF NLCIL EMPLOYEES & CONTRACT WORKMEN (INDCOSERVE, HOWSICOS & AMC)

NLC India Limited, a “Navratna” Public Sector Enterprise, Under the Ministry of Coal, invites application from eligible Wards of NLCIL Employees and Contract Workmen( INDCOSERVE, HOWSICOS & AMC) who are in the roll on the date of application for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the following designated subject fields:-

APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM WARDS OF NLCIL PROJECT AFFECTED PERSONS (PAPs’)

NLC India Limited, a “Navratna” Public Sector Enterprise, Under the Ministry of Coal, invites application from eligible Wards of Project Affected Persons who have given land and houses after 1977 to NLC India Ltd., for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the following designated subject fields:-

Criterion for consideration under PAP category:

  1. Awardees of land awards passed from 01-01-1977 will be eligible to apply for training scheme. (In case of land(s) / property, where the passing of award is under progress i.e. 3(1)/3(2)/7(2)/7(5) could not be considered).
  2. Applicant should be an awardee or a nominated person from his/her family.
  3. Only one member from a family is eligible for training under the scheme even if there is more than one Awardee in a family.
  4. Awardee can nominate any one of  the family members who can be either himself/herself/Spouse/Son/Daughter/Son in law/Daughter in law/Grand son/Grand daughter
  5. When the Awardee is not alive, one of the legal heirs of the awardee will be eligible to apply subject to production of consent of other legal heirs.

Proofs in support of PAPs to Determine Eligibility:

Candidates must attach/produce the following documents/certificates to establish the status of PAP.

  1. Copy of award i.e. 12(2) notice or True copy of 12(2) notice issued by District Administration.
  2. Also to produce the original at the time of submitting application at Land Department / at the time of verification of
  3. If the Awardee is alive, notarized under taking by the awardee and family members in favour of candidate.
  4. If the Awardee is not alive, death certificate and legal heir certificate and duly notarized consent certificate from the legal heirs.
  5. Personal identification certificate like Aadhar/Ration Card of awardee & applicant.

 AGE:

Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Category-1 Engineering Graduate Apprentices:-

  • A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.
  • A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
  • Graduate examination of Professional bodies (Full time) recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Category-II Non Engineering Graduate Apprentices:-

  • A Bachelor Degree (Full time) granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline

Category III Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:-

  • A Diploma in Engineering or technology (Full time) granted by a State Council or Board of Technical
  • Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
  • A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a University in relevant discipline.
  • A Diploma in Engineering and Technology (Full time) granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

OTHER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • For Engineering & Non Engineering Graduate Apprentices and Technician apprentices Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam in 2020/2021/2022/2023/2024.
  • Candidates should not have undergone or presently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in NLCIL or elsewhere.
  • Candidates should not have experience of one year or more in any job.
  • Candidates should be wards of NLCIL Employee or Contract Workmen (INDCOSERVE, HOWSICOS& AMC) who are in the roll on the date of application.
  • Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Act.

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES:

Guidelines under Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD will be followed. Those who are claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD shall provide certificate as per Government standard format, failing which their claim for reservation will be considered as 'General' category only. For reservation under OBC (Non creamy layer) category, they should submit OBC (NCL) certificate as per the approved (OBC- NCL) format from the certificate issuing authority (validity from 01-04-2024 to 31-03-2025).

INSTRUCTION TO CANDIDATES:

  • The Candidate will have to arrive at the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations as stated below and enclose it along with the application form (Refer Specimen format).
  • Overstatement of Marks by the candidates will lead to disqualification of the candidates from selection process
  • In case of more than one candidate scoring the same percentage of marks at the cut-off level, the senior most candidates will be considered for selection, based on the date of birth.
  • Completion of Training does not entitle the candidates any right to claim temporary or permanent nature of job in NLC India Ltd.

METHOD OF SELECTION:-

Engineering & Non - Engineering Graduates and Technician Apprentice: Selection will be based on percentage of marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying Diploma/Degree, as the case may be.

1. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Bachelors degree/Diploma and as awarded in the final qualifying examinations will be calculated based on the practice followed by the University/Institution from where the candidates has obtained the Degree/Diploma.

2. In case the candidate is awarded grades / CGPA instead of marks, the percentage of marks will be based on the procedure followed by the University/Institutions from where he/she has obtained the Bachelor Degree/Diploma

3. In the absence of any established scheme in the University/institution for calculation of percentage of marks, the following principles will apply

  • In case the candidate is awarded Grades/CGPA, then the equivalence in percentage of marks will be established by multiplying the Grade/CGPA by a factor of 10.
  • In case the candidate is awarded marks semester wise, then the equivalence in percentage of marks will be established by taking the average of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in all the semesters from second year to final year.
  • In case the candidate is awarded marks year wise, then the equivalence in percentage of marks would be established by taking the average of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in all the years, from second year to final year

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  • Go to www.nicindia.in
  • Click CAREERS link to open the Careers page.
  • Select the Trainees & Apprentices lab.
  • Apply Online (Graduate & Technician apprentice) Application link under Advt., No. L&DC/028/2024. (The link will be available from 10.00 Hours on 19-08-2024 to 17.00 Hours on 02-09-2024) Complete the application form and take a print out of the registration form
  • The Registration forms duly signed should be submitted directly or by post to the Office of The General Manager, Learning and Development Centre, Block-20, NLC India Limited. Neyveli - 607 803.

on or before 07.09.2024 by 5.00 pm enclosing the Self Attested copies of the following certificates along with application

  1. SSLC/HSC Mark sheet
  2. Transfer Certificate.
  3. Community Certificate (in case of belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
  4. Degree Certificates/Diploma Certificate/Provisional Certificate. Candidates completed their course in 2024 and having mark sheets of all semesters, but not received their provisional certificates can submit a Temporary Provision Certificate in the attached format under college letter head signed by the principal of the institution
  5. Consolidated mark sheet (or) Semester-wise Mark sheet
  6. Proof for Person with Disability (PwD) (if applicable)
  7. Proof for wards of Ex-Serviceman (if applicable).
  8. Employee ID Card/Contract Workmen ID.
  9. Employee Main medical treatment book (first page)
  10. Format showing method of arrival of percentage of marks in case of Engineering & Non Engineering Graduate/Diploma (can be downloaded).
  11. In case of Contract Workmen (INDCOSERVE, HOWSICOS & AMC) certificate form for Wards of Contract Workmen (INDCOSERVE, HOWSICOS & AMC) in the prescribed format signed by the concerned Officials of NLCIL.
